North Carolina Native, Hip Hop Artist/Songwriter, Yusha Assad, is announcing the release of his new video “Purify”, the second song off his debut project entitled “With Great Care: The Heart”. The Heart is the first of a three part series consisting of The Heart, The Struggle, and The Dream. “With Great Care: The Heart,” released last September, gave us an introduction to Yusha’s purpose and how he plans to pursue his music career while staying true to his mission of inspiring people to live a life of love, diligence and continuous growth. 

 “Purify” is a thought provoking track that captures Yusha’s desire to keep his heart pure as he progresses in his career. As he strives for success he is aware of life’s temptations and the song is a reminder to the artist and his listeners to consistently remain humble and focused. As an artist, Yusha creates quality, refreshing and timeless music that connects the hearts of people through storytelling. “Platt” Single Release – Yusha Assad

 

North Carolina Native Hip Hop Artist/Songwriter, Yusha Assad, announced the release of his single entitled “Platt” the first release from “With Great Care: The Struggle”. The Struggle will be the 2nd EP of a three part series consisting of The Heart, The Struggle, and The Dream.

 

The single “Platt” was inspired by the movie 12 Years A Slave. In the song, Yusha reflects on the details of the movie and relates the experiences to the modern idea of corporate slavery. The overall theme of the song is the promotion of freedom, independence, and personal success.

 

As an artist, Yusha creates quality, refreshing and timeless music that connects the hearts of people through storytelling, encourages listeners to make strategic moves toward success, and inspires them to live optimally. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Chi Rho Omega Chapter Hosts 3rd Annual Health and Safety Fair

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Chi Rho Omega Chapter is partnering with Wakefield Baptist Church of Zebulon and Rex Healthcare to hosts its 3rd Annual Health and Safety Fair on February 8th.  This event will provide free mammograms to uninsured women, a blood drive, blood pressure and glucose screenings, and lots of information on how to live healthy in 2014.  Entering their 10th year of service, Chi Rho Omega is dedicated to producing positive and strategic outcomes in the community. 

Slots are still available for people to sign up and donate blood.  Check out the American Red Cross facts below on how blood donations save lives.

Response to Interview with Single Wives Club Founder and President, Koereyelle Dubose

I hope you enjoyed my interview with Single Wives Club Founder and President, Koereyelle DuBose on G105.com.  I wanted to give you my personal reflection of our conversation.  I can't remember how or when  I discovered The Single Wives Club, but I do remember thinking to myself, "What a bold statement this organization is making."  These women were declaring in front of the world that yes we are single, but we are potential wives preparing ourselves for successful marriages.

As a single woman, I have not received a lot of "encouraging" feedback on my aspiration to be married.  The usual responses I get are, "When it's your time it will happen", "There is someone out there for you, just be patient", and the famous statement married people use, "Girl don't rush it."



I commend Koereyelle for providing a platform where women can be comfortable and confident in saying, "Yes, I want to be a wife."  With Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education, Koereyelle is skilled in developing curriculums that will produce specific outcomes.  Not only is the 28-year-old a compelling teacher but a dynamic business woman.  She has built a successful company by executing sound leadership and targeted marketing.  She represents "the new single woman" that wants love and marriage, but has not detoured her focus from her education and career.

This interview ignited my thought process about my own relationship choices and professional goals.  I am optimistic about my future.  I will continue to surround myself with motivated individuals, who can be a positive influence as I push to reach my goals.  I would love to hear your response to my interview with Koereyelle.  Leave a comment and let's get a positive dialogue started.

A Cultural Celebration: THE 29TH ANNUAL KWANZAAFEST

As soon as I arrived at the Durham Armory, I knew I was in for a treat.  Baba "Chuck" Davis, Founder and Artistic Director of the African American Dance Ensemble (AADE), was the first voice I heard.  He was organizing the elders in attendance to participate in the processional that would begin the 29th Annual KwanzaaFest.

In honor of Baba's 77th birthday, the AADE and a host of North Carolina performers exemplified the true meaning of Kwanzaa.  The program encompassed dancing, singing, and poetry.  I was truly amazed by the AADE's energy, agility, and artistic ability.  A group of male dancers performed an African, Hip Hop, and Jazz inspired routine, while wearing black blazers.  It was unlike anything I had seen before.  The depth of their originality and creativity was illustrated throughout the performance.

Lined up around the auditorium were vendors selling beautiful handmade jewelry, clothing, and accessories.  I purchased a beautiful pink and green bracelet from Jovita's Place.  Attendees also enjoyed delicious cuisine from Vegan Flava Cafe and The Palace International.

The 29th Annual KwanzaaFest was a great way to start off 2014.  Strong and positive energy was felt throughout the venue.  We honored our men and women of the armed forces and brought awareness to the fight against HIV/AIDS.  Baba encouraged the audience to promote peace, respect, and unity.  This event was so many things, but most of all it was a blessing to the performers, vendors, and attendees.  I am confident that God is pleased when our talents are shared and well received.

I was entertained, educated, and encouraged.  Events like this make me happy I live in the Triangle.  There is an abundance of art and culture here and Eclectic Civilization will be the place where you can find events and coverage of what's happening in the community.  I am very excited to bring you more posts that promote collaboration, education, art, and philanthropy.
